The proximity measurement system consists of a TQ401 non-contact sensor and an IQS450 signal conditioner. These components function together as a calibrated system, with each part being interchangeable with others of the same type. The system generates a voltage or current output that varies with the distance between the transducer tip and a metallic target, such as a machine shaft.

The IQS450 signal conditioner serves as the core component of this system. It features a high-frequency modulator that transmits a driving signal to the transducer, creating the electromagnetic field necessary for measuring the gap between sensor and target. The conditioner's internal circuits utilize high-quality components and are housed in an aluminium extrusion, while the transducer body is constructed from stainless steel with either metric or imperial threading options.

The TQ401 sensor includes a built-in coaxial cable terminating in a self-locking small coaxial connector. The IQS450-based system can be powered by related machinery monitoring modules or an external power supply. The target material must always be metallic.
